With all the toy product recalls in
recent years, it's nice to know that there is a push to return to the toys of
our youth...basic, wooden, toxic and lead-free and just as much fun (without
all the loud noises!). But what makes a toy "eco-friendly"?
For starters, they are typically made with natural materials that are usually
also biodegradable and recylcable. Toys that don't use any toxic dyes or
lead are especially important for your young ones, as they tend to put
everything in their mouth. More and more toy manufacturers are either
switching to eco-friendly materials, or at the very least, giving their
customers a choice by adding to their current lines.
